Radhika Madan reflects on Angrezi Medium: 'I regret not talking more to Irrfan Khan'

Radhika Madan recently opened up about her experience working with the late Irrfan Khan on the sets of Angrezi Medium, which has been four years since its release. In an interview with The Times of India, Radhika shared her regret about not engaging more with Irrfan during the shoot. Irrfan passed away in 2020 after battling a neuroendocrine tumor for two years.

Reflecting on her time with the legendary actor, Radhika said, "I was recently showing the film to my friend as he had not seen it, and I kept on wondering if I will ever be able to do a film like that again. I was remembering Irrfan Sir. I was wondering why I didn’t speak to him more, and get things out of him. I was very quiet on the sets and tried to give him space. I was just focusing on my character and wanted to see him as just my father. I thought I would have a lot of time with him to discuss movies, acting, and craft once after the film, but he was going through so much. I never spoke unless I was spoken to."

Released in 2020, Angrezi Medium explores the heartwarming relationship between a single doting father and his daughter who dreams of studying abroad. Directed by Homi Adajania, the film also stars Dimple Kapadia, Pankaj Tripathi, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Deepak Dobriyal, and Ranvir Shorey. It was Irrfan's final film appearance before his death, for which he posthumously received the Best Actor and Lifetime Achievement awards at the 66th Filmfare Awards.
