Fans of Kamal Haasan have been eagerly anticipating his next collaboration with Mani Ratnam, titled *Thug Life*. The excitement around the film has surged with the latest announcement of two new cast members: Nasser and Abhirami.

The official X page for the film recently unveiled two captivating posters of the new additions, accompanied by the message: “Excited to welcome #Nasser and @abhiramiact to the stellar #ThugLife family.” These posters offered a glimpse into the roles of Nasser and Abhirami. Notably, while Nasser has previously collaborated with Haasan on several projects, *Thug Life* will see Abhirami reuniting with him after a 20-year gap. She is set to play Haasan’s wife in the film, though no official details about her character have been confirmed. The last film they worked on together was *Virumandi* in 2004. Abhirami expressed her enthusiasm about the project by sharing the post and writing, “Never stop dreaming... Because they will come true!”

Directed by Mani Ratnam, *Thug Life* is an action drama featuring Kamal Haasan in the lead role. This film marks the reunion of Haasan and Ratnam after more than 30 years. In an exclusive conversation with Pinkvilla, Haasan shared his experience of working on the film, saying, “What’s immeasurable is the enjoyment we have on the set. It's simple, we know we have done something good. One day, some of Mani’s teammates noticed these gesture exchanges between us and they also smiled. That’s how happily the film is coming along.”

*Thug Life* is Haasan and Ratnam’s first collaboration since their 1987 film *Nayakan*. The movie is being produced by Raaj Kamal Films International, Madras Talkies, and Red Giant Movies. Initially announced in November 2022 under the working title *Kamal Haasan 234*, the film is Haasan’s 234th project as a lead actor.

In addition to Haasan, Nasser, and Abhirami, the cast includes Silambarasan TR, Trisha, Gautham Karthik, Aishwarya Lekshmi, and Joju George in pivotal roles.
