Radhika Madan, who recently appeared alongside Akshay Kumar in the film Sarfira, has opened up about her views on cosmetic procedures like Botox and fillers. In an interview with News18, the actress discussed the pressures of beauty standards in the industry and her personal stance on the subject.
Radhika shared that she doesn’t judge celebrities who choose to get Botox or fillers, recognizing that these procedures can boost confidence and self-image. "I don’t judge people who get things done because it makes them feel confident and improves their self-image, which is very important," she said.
Reflecting on her own experiences, Radhika recalled being told that her jaw was "a little tedha (uneven)." She responded with humour, "Did they expect me to sit with a scale and measure it? I was quite surprised because I was Kareena Kapoor in my head. Maybe they couldn’t see it. I didn’t buy that at that point."
Looking ahead, Radhika remains open to the possibility of opting for cosmetic procedures in the future. "I still don’t buy it, but maybe I will after a few years. I don’t know, but I may just get it done. It all depends on the kind of self-image I have at that point. I wish it remains the way it is right now. In my mind, I’m still Kareena Kapoor. And even if it’s not, I won’t judge myself. So, I’m pretty much okay with all of that."
Radhika has been actively promoting Sarfira, directed by Sudha Kongara. The film, set against the backdrop of India’s booming startup culture and aviation industry, is the Hindi remake of the critically acclaimed ‘Soorarai Pottru,’ which starred Suriya and was inspired by the life of Air Deccan Founder Captain GR Gopinath. The original 2020 film won five National Film Awards, including Best Feature Film and Best Actor.
Sarfira continues to garner attention as it brings this inspiring story to a wider audience, showcasing Radhika Madan’s versatility and commitment to her craft.
