Aamir Khan is eying to return to the silver screen after his 2022 released Laal Singh Chadha. Following the disaster of the romance comedy, the actor chose to stay away from acting and focused on his production house Aamir Khan Productions. Now reports are rife that Mr Perfecionist is set to make a comeback to acting with a slice-of-life movie said to be directed by Rajkumar Santoshi. 

According to reports in Mid-day, Aamir Khan plans to return to big screens while his productions house is busy working on new projects. A source close to the actor, Aamir Khan would collaborate with Rajkumar Santoshi in a slice-of-life movie. The said film is reported to have plenty of humour and a social message at its core and Mr. Khan is considering to be a part as the lead. The source added, that the actor will finalize his next acting film only after the edit of Sitaare Zameen Par is locked.

If the reports turn out to be true, this will mark the reunion of Andaz Apna Apna duo actor Aamir Khan and director Rajkumar Santoshi. Andaz Apna Apna is a comedy-drama cult classic movie also starring Aamir Khan, Karisma Kapoor, and Raveena Tandon. It will be a treat for fans to see a collaboration between the actor-director duo for another comedy slice-of-life movie. 

Meanwhile, Aamir Khan is focusing on his production department while he chase to not work as an actor. He aims to transform his production house Aamir Khan Productions into a full-fledged studio under the leadership of its newly appointed CEO, Aparna Purohit, who brings eight years of Amazon Prime India experience to the table. 

Currently, Aamir Khan Productions has multiple projects in hand. The exciting slate of upcoming projects under the banner includes Rajkumar Santoshi's historical drama Lahore 1947, Pritam Pyaare which will feature Aamir’s son Junaid Khan who made a debut with YRF’s Maharaj and Vis Das’ comedy drama Happy Patel. The production house is actively working on Sitaare Zameen Par helmed by RS Prasanna. The movie is said to be an adaptation of the Spanish film Campeones.
