Actor Aamir Khan’s son Junaid Khan made a remarkable debut with the Netflix film Maharaj.

Despite having a lowkey launch the actor proved himself with talent and skills in Siddharth P Malhotra's directorial. Mr. Perfectionist believed in his son and had no involvement in the production or promotions. The superstar opened up on his emotional ride during the release of the historical drama.

Aamir Khan was recently present at the song launch of Kuriye where during a media interaction he spoke about son Junaid Khan’s debut. The actor admitted feeling stressed as he expressed ride in his son's achievement. Like any parent, Mr. Khan was also nervous when his son stepped into the industry but the film received positive reviews for its compelling storyline and stunning performances.

During the media interaction, Aamir said, “When Junaid’s film Maharaj was released, I was very stressed whether people would like his work or not. Junaid has worked really hard for himself and he never accepted any help from me in any way ever. So I’m very proud and happy that he made it on his own terms in his own way and you know and I can see that.” Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao hosted a party to celebrate Maharaj's success.

Maharaj is a historical period drama based on the true events of Maharaj Libel Case featuring Junaid Khan and Jaideep Ahlawat in leading roles. Junaid played a journalist and social reformer Karsandas Mulji who aims to expose godman JJ Maharaj played by Jaideep for immoral behaviour and sexual exploitation of his female devotees. The film is directed by Siddharth P Malhotra and before its release it faced criticism and ban. The Gujarat High Court had put a stay order but later lifted the ban, claiming nothing offensive. The film was silently released on Netflix.
