Stree 2 actor Abhishek Banerjee reveals his father desired him to become an IAS

Actor Abhishek Banerjee is gearing up for his upcoming most-awaited movie Stree 2 a sequel to 2018’s biggest hit Stree also starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao. He portrays the character of Jana who is aspiring to be an IAS officer in part 2. Recently the actor opened up about a deeply personal yet ironically funny connection to his latest character in the highly anticipated film. Banerjee revealed that his father desired him to become an IAS officer but destiny had something else for him.

Abhishek's father always aspired for him to become an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer. Well, the actor now claims he has fulfilled his father’s dream in reel life instead of real. He looks back at the situation sweetly and comically that wishes are being made realised on screens. As he is playing Jana an IAS aspirant he finds it a way to honor his father.

Abhishek said, "My father always wanted me to pursue a career as an IAS officer. While my heart was always set on acting, this role in 'Stree 2' feels like my father’s dream has never left my side. Playing Jana, who aspires to be what my father wished for me, is genuinely sweet yet funny. My father and I still laugh about it that being his son I found unique ways to realise his dreams, if not in reality, at least on screen”.

Talking about his character Jana, Abhishek Banerjee has a humorous take on the chances of being a success. He said, "Seeing Jana's struggles with the IAS exam preparation makes me doubtful that he would have ever cracked it in his life. But, I’m glad I could at least embody that ambition in a film."
