Alia Bhatt has cemented her name in the film industry purely on the basis of her acting having been launched as a star kid. She is one of the most talented stars of her generation. Starting her career with the debut film Student of the Year, she has delivered some praiseworthy movies in Bollywood. Her father Mahesh Bhatt opened up on his daughter’s evolution in the cinema from her first film till now.
Mahesh Bhatt revealed he was particularly moved by Alia Bhatt’s performance in Udta Punjab and Highway when asked about his daughter’s favourite performance, in an interview with India Today. He said, “I must say that I was devastated by Udta Punjab. I didn’t understand when did this girl, this Juhu girl exposed to our home, where we live like a normal family… How did this Juhu girl get the accent right of an Adivasi from Chhattisgarh. It was amazing. I was astounded by that.”
He continued, “Her raw power, and her ability to get into such a vulnerable space, and bare her heart. Highway and Udta Punjab… It was a departure from that girl who was just a mannequin in Student of the Year. You see the evolution in your child also.”
In a career spanning 12 years, Alia Bhatt has worked with her dad only in one film Sadak 2 which was poorly received by the audience. Earlier, the veteran filmmaker announced that Sadak 2 would be his last film saying “I am outdated, a has-been.”
On the work front, Alia Bhatt was last seen in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani alongside Ranveer Singh. In the same year 2023, she also made a Hollywood debut Heart of Stone with Gal Gadot, and Jamie Dornan. Next in the kitty, she has Alpha a female-led spy film produced under YRF. She is also gearing up for her second production venture Jigra where she will share screen with Vedang Raina.
