Sanjay Dutt lost out on Son of Sardaar 2 after UK visa got rejected

Sanjay Dutt who is gearing up for the release of his upcoming movie Ghudchadi had another project in the lineup a sequel to his 2012 movie Son of Sadaar. The actor was roped in to join the cast of Son of Sardaar 2, however, he has now been dropped from the movie. This comes as a shocking change in the development of the movie which is scheduled to be shot in Edinburgh, Scotland. Well, the reason for Sanjay Dutt getting replaced is not a creative or production difference but his UK visa got rejected. Here’s why the actor didn’t get a green signal to travel to the UK.

After 12 years Son of Sardaar was set for a sequel in which Sanjay Dutt and Ajay Devgn were supposed to battle out again reprising their original characters. However, the latest reports about the movie suggest that Sanjay Dutt has been dropped from the cast and Ravi Kishan will take up the role. The reports mention that the UK visa application was rejected due to his incarceration in the past. This comes as a second change in the original star cast, earlier Sonakshi Sinha was replaced by Mrunal Thakur and now Ravi Kishan fills in for Mr. Dutt.

According to Mid-day reports a source said, “Ever since his arrest in 1993, while Sanju has travelled to the US, he has applied for a UK visa multiple times, but never got one. The Son of Sardaar 2 shoot would have been his first trip to the UK. However, after Ajay’s team found out that the senior actor’s visa request had been rejected, they replaced him with Ravi Kishan."

Sanjay Dutt will also feature in Housefull 5 which is set to be shot in London in September. Considering the UK visa issue it is concerning if Sajid Nadiadwala will even look for a replacement or his other plan. Highlight on this the source revealed, "Sajid has chosen a wiser route. While the shooting with the cast begins in London, all of Sanju’s portions will be filmed in Mumbai. So, there are no issues on that front.”
