Paris Olympics is the most followed tournament right now. Several Indian sportspersons have been qualified and one amongst all is badminton player Lakshya Sen. He had a crushing loss at the Paris Olympics 2024 men's singles badminton bronze medal match. While Ranveer Singh’s father-in-law Prakash Padukone, who is aa renowned badminton player, was upset with the player, the actor came in support of the 22-year-old boy. Lakshya became the first Indian male shuttler to reach the semi-finals of the Men's Badminton in the Olympics. 

Lakshya had a match against Lee Zii Jia for the bronze medal but he lost with a score of 13-21, 21-16, 21-11. Ranveer Singh coming up in the support of the player shared an Instagram story. Sharing the picture of Lakshya, he wrote, “What a player! What endurance, what agility, what a range of shots, what focus, what grit, what smarts. Scintillating badminton on display! Its difficult to encapsulate just how brilliant he's been at the Olympics. Missed out narrowly in a game of extremely small margins. But he's only 22 and he is just getting started.”

After losing the match, Lakshya said,  "I had my chances. Could have done better in the second set. Credit to him; he played very well. I am not able to take it at the moment. In between the points, there was blood on the floor. I was losing some momentum, having a break in my game. Serving again and trying to refocus on the match.”

On the work front, Ranveer Singh will be next seen collaborating with his wife Deepika Padukone in Singham Again, as she plays a lady cop in Ajay Devgn’s upcoming movie. On the other hand he has recently signed Aditya Dhar’s next action drama, tentatively titled Dhurandhar which features an ensemble cast of Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, Akshaye Khanna, and Arjun Rampal. Singh also has Farhan Akhtar’s Don 3 in the pipeline.
