Rajkummar Rao, Ayushmann Khurrana and other Bollywood celebs extend congratulatory wishes to Vinesh Phogat to enter the Paris Olympics 2024 finals

The ongoing Paris Olympics 2023 has several Indian players competing in various games. In wrestling Vinesh Phogat became the first Indian woman wrestler to reach the finals. On Tuesday, she won the semi-finals with a score of 5-0 over Cuba's Yusneylis Guzman Lopez in Paris. With this significant win, she enters the finals and guarantees herself at least a silver medal. At the end of the first period she was leading 1-0 and in the second period she extended her dominance with four more points to seal the bout in her favour.

Several Bollywood celebs have congratulated Vinesh Phogat for her win at the Paris Olympics 2024 semi-finals. Rajkummar Rao, Ayushmann Khurrana, Taapsee Pannu, Riteish Deshmukh, and more penned heartfelt messages on their social media boosting Vinesh's confidence. Mr. & Mrs Mahi actor Rajkummar Rao shared a picture of Vinesh from the wrestling match at the Olympics. Writing in an Instagram caption, he wrote, "And we are in the finals. It was such a joy watching you playing live. You are the pride of our nation @vineshphogat. Good luck for the finals. Our prayers are with you."

Taapsee Pannu, who recently attended Paris Olympics 2024, shared three Instagram stories to congratulate Vinesh. In the first story sharing a reel, she wrote, "This woman is going to be recalled as a benchmark in a lot of ways for decades to come! What a woman! What a crazy year she has had and what courage she has shown. Your fan for life." In another story she added, "And she did it!" Her third and final story read, "Walking towards the final like a champion."

Riteish Deshmukh took to his X formerly Twitter account, sharing a picture of Vinesh he wrote, “That’s what a champion looks like after beating the World No 1 & Defending Olympic Gold Medal holder #VineshPhogat.” Ayushmann Khurrana reposted a post on his Instagram stories and wrote, "Indian wrestler Vinesh Phogat couldn't stop crying after her win from the unbeatable world No.1 champion." Kunal Khemu and Soha Ali Khan too joined to congratulate the girl on their Instagram stories. While Kunal penned, "What a champ. Ufff. Sooooooo Proud!!!" Soha wrote, "First Indian woman to reach an Olympic wrestling final @vineshphogat!!!!! Soooo proud!!!!"
