Shah Rukh Khan is gearing up for his next film tentatively titled King which is billed to be a one-of-a-kind action film. While it is known that he will be sharing the screen with his daughter Suhana Khan, Peeping Moon was the first one to report that Abhishek Bachchan will play the antagonist opposite SRK. With reports around the casting of Siddharth Anand and Sujoy Ghosh's films in talks, a major update around a new entry has surfaced. Abhay Verma fame of Munjya has reportedly joined the star cast to play a key role.
Abhay Verma has garnered critical acclaim for his brilliant performance in debut movie Munjya which was critically acclaimed. The actor captivated the audience and industry people with his charm in the horror comedy flick. The success of the Maddock Films movie helped the actor bag some good projects and one such big experience is Shah Rukh Khan’s King. He will play an important role alongside SRK, Suhana Khan, and Abhishek Bachchan. More details about his character has been kept under wraps.
A source close to the development has revealed, “Abhay Verma has got a lot of appreciation for his performance in Munjya and the same is reflecting in the kind of offers coming his way. He has bagged a key role in King alongside Shah Rukh Khan and Suhana Khan. He is excited to venture into this tentpole feature film.”
The source further shared information on the production of King, “While the script is locked, the makers have also identified the shooting locations in India and abroad. The production team is now on the final step to get the entire ensemble cast in place alongside Shah Rukh Khan, Suhana Khan and Abhishek Bachchan, as they are aiming to take the film on floors in November 2024.”
King follows the story of the mentor-protegee bond between Shah Rukh Khan and Suhana. The action-packed film is directed by Sujoy Ghosh and produced by Shah Rukh Khan’s home banner Red Chillies Entertainment in collaboration with Pathaan director Siddharth Anand’s production house, Marflix.
