Vicky Kaushal praises brother Sunny Kaushal's performance in Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba after special screening

After attending special screening of Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba actor Vicky Kaushal took to social media. He commended his brother Sunny Kaushal’s performance in much-anticipated romantic thriller. The film is a sequel to 2021 hit Haseen Dillruba. It sees Taapsee Pannu and Vikrant Massey reprising their roles. Directed by Jayprad Desai, the movie is set to premiere on Netflix on August 9.

Before the film’s official release star-studded screening was held in Mumbai. Vicky Kaushal showed his support for his brother. His brother plays character of Abhimanyu in the film. Impressed by Sunny's portrayal, Vicky shared his thoughts on Instagram writing, "@sunsunnykhez You have truly surprised me with your ability to pull off such a twisted character. So tastefully done. I know how excited you were to take up this part and could see you have fun playing it through and through. So proud! Onwards and upwards brother!"

The screening was attended by several celebrities. This included the film’s leads Taapsee Pannu and Vikrant Massey. Also present were Aparshakti Khurana, Abhishek Banerjee, Dia Mirza, Jimmy Sheirgill, Sonam Bajwa and actor couple Sargun Mehta and Ravi Dubey. Additionally were Sunny and Vicky’s parents Sham and Veena Kaushal.

In recent interview with The Indian Express Taapsee Pannu reflected on release journey of Haseen Dillruba. It was originally slated for 2020. However, it was delayed due to COVID-19 pandemic. Taapsee shared, "When Haseen Dillruba released in 2021, I had planned two films a year, but it so happened that I could only have one (in 2020), and then everything got piled on and it started coming out as a burst!"

This month Taapsee faces similar situation with two of her films, Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba and Khel Khel Mein releasing back-to-back. She expressed some concern over timing. It is a relief that one film is releasing on OTT and the other in theaters. Khel Khel Mein, co-starring Akshay Kumar, Ammy Virk, Vaani Kapoor, Fardeen Khan, Aditya Seal and Pragya Jaiswal is scheduled for an August 15 release in cinemas.
