As Rajkummar Rao gears up for the release of Stree 2 actor recently appeared on Pinkvilla’s Masterclass alongside co-star Shraddha Kapoor. He opened up about his evolving perspective on past roles. This is particularly true for his 2012 film Shahid. During the hour-long interview, Rao shared something significant. He would approach his role in Shahid differently today if given a chance.
Reflecting on his career, Rao explained, "It happens with every film, to be honest. You grow as a human being. What I was 10 years back when I did Shahid and who I am today—I've gained more experience and maturity. I think every actor goes through this natural process. If you ask any actor how they look back at their work, they’ll probably say, ‘I wish I could do it now; it could have been different.’ I’m not sure if it would be better, but definitely different."
Shraddha Kapoor who was also part of the conversation, echoed Rao’s sentiments. She mentioned that she often questions her choices. This happens when watching her performances. She said, "When I see myself, there are 10 questions going on in my head. Should I have done it like this? This applies to all my films. But eventually, I tell myself it’s all good the way it is. I believe in taking your learnings and applying them forward. For me, the best is yet to come."
Shahid directed by Hansal Mehta is a biographical drama based on the life of a lawyer and human rights activist Shahid Azmi who was assassinated. The film starred Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub.
