Chhaava teaser out now: An epic saga of a courageous warrior, Vicky Kaushal transforms into Maratha warrior-king Chhatrapati Sambhaji

Vicky Kaushal is set to take on role of another historical icon in the upcoming epic action-drama Chhaava. Directed by Laxman Utekar. The film tells the story of Maratha warrior-king Chhatrapati Sambhaji. It is slated for a December 6 release. The teaser and poster for much-anticipated period saga were recently unveiled. They showcase Kaushal in the titular role.
The teaser opens with powerful voiceover from Vicky Kaushal: “Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is called a lion and I am his son. The cub of a lion is called Chhaava.” The visuals depict him riding horse clad in warrior armor. He engages in intense battle scenes against massive Mughal army. Despite being heavily outnumbered Sambhaji, blood-soaked and injured fights back fiercely. He displays his indomitable spirit.

Vicky Kaushal shared the teaser to his Instagram with the caption, “Protector of Swarajya. Defender of Dharma. #Chhaava - An epic saga of a courageous warrior!” The post quickly garnered praise from fans and fellow actors alike. Bhumi Pednekar commented, “Is there anything you can’t do @vickykaushal09,” while Angira Dhar added, “Superb,” along with fire and heart emojis. Fans were equally enthusiastic, with one writing, “Ye hai asli Goosebumps,” and another declaring, “What is that what Vicky Kaushal can't do.”

As the teaser nears its end Akshaye Khanna makes striking appearance as Aurangzeb. He delivers chilling line: “Shivaji is gone but his thoughts and vision are still alive.” The final shot features Vicky Kaushal dressed in royal Maratha attire. He is seated on a throne. He embodies the regal authority of his character.

As the teaser came, many Bollywood stars reacted with full of excitement. Actor Sharvari commented, “Goosebumps!!” Bhumi Pednekar praised Vicky and commented, “Is there anything you can’t do @vickykaushal09 Fab fab fab.”

Chhaava also stars Rashmika Mandanna, Ashutosh Rana, Divya Dutta, Neil Bhoopalam and Santosh Juvekar in key roles. Produced by Dinesh Vijan's Maddock Films.
