Aamir Khan has been ruling the headlines lately despite none of his movies being released anytime soon. His name has once again surfaced in the news and this time for his candid conversation with Rhea Chakraborty for her podcast, Chapter 2. After Sushmita Sen, Mr. Khan popularly known as Mr. Perffectionist graced the couch and made some comments that left everyone shocked, in a teaser of the upcoming episode that dropped recently. He dropped a bombshell revealing he wants to step away from films and this has left many heartbroken.
In the teaser of Rhea Chakraborty's podcast Chapter 2, both were seen in fun chatter. The host asked him if he ever looks into the mirror and marvels at how good-looking he is. Aamir Khan being modest shrugs off and gives whole credit to SRK, Salman, and Hrithik asserting he doesn’t see himself as handsome. He said, “I think Shah Rukh Khan is really good looking. Salman Khan is really good looking. Hrithik Roshan is really good looking. Log toh mere kapdon ka mazak udaata rehta hai ke ‘yeh pata nahin kya pahen ke aa jata hai.”
He further added “Mujhe filmon se hatna hai (I want to step aside from films).” This explosive revelation left Rhea and disbelief suggesting a lie detector test as she doesn’t believe and Aamir confidently agrees to a test saying “Karwalo.” Well, Aamir revealed that he decided to work for the next 15 years when he attended the special screening of Laapataa Ladies along with his ex-wife Kiran Rao. He then mentioned, “I realised that I might have 15 more years of active work left.” He aims to give back to society as a producer creating good content like Laapataa Ladies.
Aamir Khan’s comment about moving away from movies also comes after his son Junaid Khan spoke about his father being in the retirement stage. Junaid, who is now producing Pritam Pyaare for Aamir Khan Productions, told in an interview, “At that point, Kiran Rao was making Laapataa Ladies and dad was going through this whole ‘I-am-retiring phase’, and he even spoke about that (smiles). He told me, ‘I am retiring, why don’t you take over.’ So, that’s the phase when I stepped in. I think I have a decent understanding of production. It’s probably one of the toughest jobs in filmmaking.”
