Jolly LLB actor Arshad Warsi critiques Kalki 2898 AD, calls Prabhas' look "Like a Joker," while praising Amitabh Bachchan's performance

Arshad Warsi, known for his candid opinions, recently created quite a stir on the online world with his very talked-about, unfiltered review of the Prabhas-starrer Kalki 2898 AD. Though he seemed to enjoy Amitabh Bachchan's powerful presence in the film, he did not shy away from criticizing Prabhas. He said that Prabhas resembled a "joker."

In an interview with Samdish Bhatia on his YouTube channel, Warsi was asked what the last movie he had watched. He informed that it was Kalki 2898 AD. Warsi said the film was bad, though he hated everything, he is full of praise for Amitabh Bachchan. "Unbelievable" was the term he used for him and praised his acting. "I can't understand that man. I swear, if we got the power he has, life ban jaaye (our lives would be set). He's unreal," Warsi remarked.

However, when it came to Prabhas, Warsi was less impressed and said, "Prabhas, I am really sad, why was he… he was like a joker. Why? I want to see a Mad Max. I want to see Mel Gibson over there. Tumne usko kya bana dia yaar. Kyu karte ho aisa mujhe nahi samajh mein aata (What have you made of it? Why do they do such things I never understand)," he stated bluntly.

In the same interview Warsi also shared his thoughts on other recent films. He praised Animal, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga and starring Ranbir Kapoor. He described it as "figment of man's imagination." He expressed his enjoyment of its unique world. Warsi emphasized that films are meant to entertain not educate. He cited the global appeal of Marvel Studios' Avengers for creating a world audience have never seen before. He also complimented Anurag Kashyap's style of filmmaking. He noted that Kennedy director doesn't "bore" him. Instead, he transports him to another world.

On the professional front Arshad Warsi is gearing up for next big release, Jolly LLB 3 directed by Subash Kapoor. The comedy courtroom drama stars Akshay Kumar, Huma Qureshi and Saurabh Shukla. It is set to hit theatres on April 10 2025. Backed by Cape of Good Films in collaboration with Disney+Hotstar, the film is highly anticipated by fans of franchise.
