Director Madhur Bhandarkar recently fuelled rumours of a sequel to his successful film Fashion from 2008 following a meeting with Priyanka Chopra in Los Angeles. He posted a photo of their get together on Instagram and X (formerly Twitter) which led to speculations about a potential conversation regarding Fashion 2. “It was a delight to meet & engage in a fascinating discussion with the talented @priyankachopra at her exquisite residence in Los Angeles,” Bhandarkar's caption on the post has sparked curiosity among fans about the possibility of the legendary pair coming together again for a movie.

The original Fashion, featuring Priyanka Chopra as the aspiring supermodel Meghna Mathur, was an instinctual success—it won National Film Awards for Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress categories for Priyanka Chopra and Kangana Ranaut, respectively. Among the reunion buzz, fans took to social media, keen for a sequel. “Can we expect Kangana Ranaut X Priyanka Chopra in Fashion 2? Please make it happen!” one user wrote. Some people shared optimism about the sequel keeping important actors from the first movie, such as Ranaut, who had a significant part in the movie.

In a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama Bhandarkar shared his desire to delve into the present-day modelling scene. He pointed out the diminishing presence of supermodels in a world, shaped by influencers and celebrities. This he proposed could serve as the focal point for the storyline of Fashion 2. "There was a time when we used to hear of supermodels. But in the last few years, can you recall the name of any supermodel? Bollywood celebs have taken over and have become showstoppers."

The director has yet to reveal if Fashion 2 will take the form of a movie or a series. However, he has a distinct vision in mind to explore how social media has transformed the fashion landscape. Viewers are now eagerly anticipating an announcement, hoping to see the continuation of a gripping narrative that once held them spellbound.
