Javed Akhtar and Salim Khan have made many big revelations on their career, work life and married life in their documentary 'The Angry Young Man'. Javed Akhtar also told the reason behind tying the knot with his first wife Honey Irani. He declared himself responsible for the relationship with his first wife.

Javed Akhtar said that, “Honey (ex-wife) is the only person in this world for whom I feel guilty. I regretted it. 60 to 70 percent responsibility for the breakdown of my marriage with Honey rests on my shoulders. If at that time I had as much understanding about life as I have today, things would not have gone wrong. It is very difficult to accept this, but this is what we call life.”

Javed Akhtar's son Farhan revealed that he was very angry with his father at that time. Farhan said, “At one time I was very angry with him. I thought he had cheated. When I was growing up, I had many emotions. At the same time, Javed Akhtar's daughter Zoya said, “When both of them separated, we stopped living with our mother. We did not spend time with him. However, it took time for us to normalise things with father also. I think Shabana ji has a big role in improving our relationship with our father.”

Shabana Azmi also reacted on becoming Javed Akhtar's second wife. She said, “When three people are involved in a relationship, it is quite painful. Especially when children are also involved in it. The pain increases when people judge and say -she is going to break the house or he has ruined the house.”

Shabana said that she wanted to tell people her side of the story, but then she stopped herself, because doing so would have broken many more hearts. Therefore, it felt better to remain silent and listen to people's taunts. Praising Javed Akhtar's ex-wife, Shabana said, “I would like to give credit for this to Honey, because if she wanted, she could have filled negativity in the minds of the children. But he did not do so. She explained to the children that they should not consider me a dangerous stepmother. We both have a very good relationship.

Let us tell you that Javed Akhtar first married Honey Irani in 1972. He has two children from this marriage, Farhan Akhtar and Zoya Akhtar. But after a few years of marriage, both of them separated. After the breakdown of his first marriage, Javed Akhtar married Shabana Azmi for the second time in 1984.
