‘He was in love’: Mukesh Chhabra’s justification of Ravana sparks controversy and trolling

The Ranbir Kapoor starrer 'Ramayan' went on the floors some time ago. The actor plays the role of Lord Ram in the film, while Sai Pallavi plays the role of Goddess Sita. Although the official announcement of the film has not been made yet and no information has been revealed about it yet, the market of speculations has become hot after the pictures of Ranbir and Sai were leaked from the set. Now casting director Mukesh Chhabra has made some comments about Ravana, due to which he is embroiled in controversies.

Meanwhile, casting director Mukesh Chhabra has talked about the film. However, he has given some controversial statements, before this Saif Ali Khan had also got into trouble after making similar statements.

Mukesh Chhabra talked about Ravana and during a conversation with Ranveer Allahbadia, he said, "Yaar, he was also in love, wasn't he?" He further added, "He wanted revenge, but he was also in love. As far as I understand Ravana, he was evil and vengeful, but his revenge was motivated by love for his sister. He felt the same for his sister. He had to do what he had to do. In the war, both sides believed that they were on the right side. But ultimately, Ravana was motivated by love."

Let us tell you that earlier Saif had made a similar comment while playing the role of Ravana in Prabhas's 'Adipurush'. Saif had said "Playing a demon king is interesting, it has less restrictions. But we will humanise him, raise the entertainment level, justify the kidnapping of Sita and the war with Rama which is fought by Lakshmana against his sister Surpanakha. It is revenge for the treatment done to him by those who had cut off his nose.

However, later people did not like Saif's comment and people trolled him a lot on social media and later he also apologised for it.
