Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan are the two superstars of Bollywood who have a humongous fanbase. Despite being a megastar, Salman faced a series of flop movies in the past few years and netizens tagged him as an underutilized actor. Mukesh Chhabra, who is a well-known casting director of Bollywood, recently discussed the thought of the Tiger actor being called underutilized. He even claimed that Shah Rukh Khan is the last of the stars in the film industry.

In an interview with, Ranveer Allahbadia, Mukesh Chhabra highlighted on Salman Khan’s stardom in the industry. When asked if Salman Khan is an underutilised actor he said, “Nhi bhai, unhone boht achi performances di hai. (No, he has given many great performances.)” He went on to mention Salman’s best works namely Baaghi, Patthar Ke Phool, Tere Naam, Love, Hum Aapke Hain Koun, and more. The casting director stated that had it not for Salman Khan played Bajrangi Bhaijaan no one could have performed the “simple and honest” character the way he did, nor anyone come close to his role in films like No Entry, Partner, and more. He further demanded “We want such films.”

Addressing why people think Salman Khan is underutilized Mukesh Chhabra said these are just random people who are creating such narratives. He also added that when the bhaijaan of Bollywood would want to perform, he will. In fact, he has already done it with several iconic Hindi films. He was quoted saying, “2-4 log social media pe Chintu, Bablu, Tinku ghoom rahe hai… (There are some random people like Chintu, Bablu, and Tinku who are creating such narratives.)”

In the same conversation, Mukesh Chhabra called Shah Rukh Khan ‘last of the stars.’ When questioned about his notion, the casting director replied, “It’s said that the galaxy is huge and there can be many stars, but he will remain the biggest.” He then added that there can be many stars but no one can by Shah Rukh Khan. The Dil Bechara director exclaimed that SRK is an outsider and is sitting on the top and this is the biggest answer to the outsider and insider debate in Bollywood.
