Arshad Warsi reveals Sanjay Dutt almost got into local fight with foreigners in Bangkok

Arshad Warsi and Sanjay Dutt are a Bollywood iconic duo popular for their on-screen pairing as Munna Bhai and Circuit. Even off-screen, both share a close bond with each other. Having worked in Munna Bhai MBBS and Lage Raho Munna Bhai both teamed up for Anthony Kaun Hai? During the shoot of the 2006 mystery comedy, both encountered a real street fight in Bangkok with foreigners who catcalled Anusha Dandekar. However, they ran away thinking Sanjay Dutt was a real don.

Arshad Warsi recently recalled an incident when he and Sanjay Dutt almost got into a fight with foreigners while shooting Anthony Kaun Hai? in Bangkok. In an interview with Samdish Bhatia, he recollected, “We (Sanjay and Arshad) were shooting for the film Anthony Kaun Hai? in Bangkok. After the shoot was over for the day, Sanjay and one of his friends there, Bittu, as well as Anusha Dandekar who was part of the film, we decided to go out for dinner. So, Anushka was walking a little ahead of us, I was behind her and Sanjay and Bittu were behind me. Two foreigners eve-teased Anusha Dandekar. They were well-built. For me, everybody is built-up”.

He continued, “They were drunk so they started to circle around me. We were all set to get into a fight. I too stood up against them. Suddenly, I realised Sanju and Bittu came and stood behind me. Both of them are extremely well-built. Now, the tables had turned. We were about to start the fight, when we suddenly realised people were recording us, so our attention was suddenly directed towards asking people to stop recording. The situation escalated, and after a brief exchange of words, people behind Sanjay Dutt began to calm him down. Suddenly, the two white men wondered if Sanju was a local gangster. They eventually fled."
