Taapsee Pannu was spotted at the Paris Olympics 2024 cheering on her husband Mathias Boe a former badminton player turned coach. Khel Khel Mein actress, who tied the knot with Boe in a private ceremony in Udaipur in March 2024, told in a recent chat that she has never seen him play live as this adds to her stress during those aggressive and rapid matches.
In an interview with ANI Taapsee revealed that Mathias upcoming Olympics could be his last one and that played a role in her choice to be there. She expressed, "This might be the last Olympics that Mathias is a part of. I never went to see him play because it was very stressful to watch him live." Throughout the years, Taapsee participated in a handful of Super Series tournaments but steered clear of the bigger events. Nevertheless, with Mathias now coaching the men’s doubles badminton team she found it less irresistible and believed it was crucial to grab this final chance to stand by him.
In light of the potential backlash on social media regarding her husband’s losses Taapsee drew a parallel between her situation and Anushka Sharmas who faced criticism for Virat Kohlis cricket performances. Taapsee expressed her indifference saying that trolling is something one can’t escape regardless of their actions. She commented, "Trolling has become a part of everyone’s life lately. If I wasn’t relevant, people wouldn’t spend time or energy on me. In a way, I take it as a sign of relevance."
In her recent work Taapsee was featured in Khel Khel Mein alongside Akshay Kumar, Ammy Virk, Vaani Kapoor and more. Her upcoming project Woh Ladki Hai Kahaan is an investigative comedy penned and helmed by Arshad Syed. Taapsee takes on the role of a cop full of spirit opposite Pratik Gandhi who plays a chauvinistic character reluctantly joining her on an adventurous escapade.
