Nani regrets reacting to Arshad Warsi's 'Joker' comment on Prabhas: Calls it a 'Poor choice of words'

Recently, superstar Nani made headlines by reacting to Arshad Warsis controversial comments about Prabhas in the film Kalki 2898 AD. Warsi's remarks calling Prabhas a joker sparked strong reactions from fans of the latter. Nani who initially took a stand against Warsi at an event has now shown remorse for his handling of the matter.

During a frank conversation with Midday Nani clarified his previous remarks acknowledging that they were exaggerated. “I had only seen cut clips of what he said, which were all over social media, just like how my reaction went viral,” Nani clarified. “When it's someone you love, you immediately react. But after seeing the social media uproar, I went back and watched the entire interview. It became clear that the issue was amplified through media and social channels.”

Looking back at his answer Nani admitted that his word selection could have been better. "Definitely, my choice of words was poor. The biggest thing you can do is accept when you're wrong," He mentioned that while Warsi is entitled to his perspective, he believed the wording chosen could have been more considerate.

Nani made his first remarks during the event before the release of Saripodhaa Sanivaaram where he stated, “I think the biggest publicity in that person’s life (referring to Warsi) just happened now. You are unnecessarily glorifying an unimportant matter.”

The debate kicked off when Arshad Warsi joined Samdish Bhatia on a podcast. While chatting, Warsi shared his thoughts on Kalki 2898 AD particularly commenting on Prabhas' acting in the film. He expressed, “Prabhas, I am really sad. Why was he like a joker? Why? I want to see Mad Max, I want to see Mel Gibson. What have you made it?”

While Warsi commended Amitabh Bachchans portrayal of Ashwatthama in the movie his remarks about Prabhas stirred controversy among fans and many within the South Indian film community. Directed by Nag Ashwin Kalki 2898 AD boasts a star-studded lineup featuring Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone and Kamal Haasan and is eagerly awaited as one of the films in Indian cinema. In the aftermath of this debate Nani’s explanation and apology appear to be a way to put the matter behind them and encourage people to approach discussions with caution.
