Salman Khan hints at remaking 'Sholay', jokes about playing both Jai and Veeru

The blockbuster film Sholay starring Amitabh Bachchan, Dharmendra, Amjad Khan, Hema Malini, Jaya Bachchan and Sanjeev Kumar, released in the year 1975, is a favourite not only of fans but also of celebs. There is also talk of making a remake of this film. Meanwhile, superstar Salman Khan has also recently expressed his desire to make a remake of this film. Not only this, he told which character among Gabbar, Jai-Veeru and Thakur he wants to play.

The promotional video of Salim Javed's docu series has been shared by Salman Khan on Instagram, in which host Farah Khan asks Salman Khan which film of Salim Javed he wants to remake, to which Salman Khan replies without delay. Giving it said, Sholay. He says, “if I want to remake any of his films, I would like to remake Sholay. I can play the role of both Jai and Veeru. I can also play Gabbar.”

In the same promo, Javed Akhtar recalled how many people in the cast wanted to play the role of villain Gabbar, which was originally played by late actor Amjad Khan. Akhtar said, "Amitabh Bachchan and Sanjeev Kumar said that they wanted to play the role of Gabbar. However, Dharmendra never said that he wanted this role, because he was happy with his role."
