Actor Arshad Warsi recently claimed that he was paid less for choreographing a song in Boney Kapoor's 1993 film Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja. He told during a conversation that he was promised one lakh rupees for this work. But after completing the shooting in three days instead of four, he was given only Rs 75 thousand. Now Boney Kapoor has taken a dig at him in this matter.
Boney Kapoor laughed off the claim and said, 'I read his statement and found it funny. This happened in 1992 and they are talking about it now. He was not a star at that time; Who would give him such a huge amount?' He clarified that Arshad was paid Rs 25,000 per day, which was a total of Rs 75,000 for three days' work. Boney said that the shooting, directed by Pankaj Parashar, was initially planned for four days, but it was completed in three days.
He said, 'I don't even remember this. It was not that he was promised any fixed amount. They were paid according to the days worked. During the conversation, Boney Kapoor was asked whether Arshad had ever talked to him about this before. To this he said, 'No, he never talked about this. We were on a TV show with Malaika Arora and Farah Khan. He never talked about it then. Now suddenly, he's talking about it. Everyone wants to get media attention, and I'm an easy way out.'
Let us tell you that Arshad Warsi said in a recent conversation, 'I charged a fee of Rs 1 lakh and estimated that it would take four days to complete the song. However, the production team asked if I could complete it earlier to reduce costs. I completed the shoot in three days, hoping that they would appreciate my work. But when I went to collect my fees, they gave me Rs 75,000 instead of Rs 1 lakh. They said it is Rs 1 lakh for four days and Rs 75,000 for three days, which I did not think was fair.
