Kriti Sanon has cemented a niche career for herself without any heavyweight industrial support in a career spanning 10 years. She has come a long way from debuting in Heropanti in 2014, to opening her own production house to being an entrepreneur launching a cosmetic brand. The actress recently reflected on her share of struggles being an outsider and facing difficulties in creating a space and her identity. Despite being a renowned actress now she believes she needs to prove herself. Sanon even recalled moments when felt left out and had no one to call up.
Appearing on Nikhil Kamath’s podcast, Kriti Sanon reflected on her 10 years of journey in th showbiz. Opening up on becoming a renowned actress as an outsider, Kriti said, "Sometimes... (but) I don't have someone who will make a call. I have had more of those moments, and a little bit of frustration earlier. But it has taken me a decade to reach where I am today. Today, there's a little less to prove... like 'I need to prove myself'."
Elaborating her statement, Sanon added, "Because there is a sense of validation that's happened over the 10 years; whether it is with the box office or as an actor. I think I have always been someone who was hungry to be known as a good actor, not just have the stardom."
Discussing the recognition she has earned over her decade long career in the industry, Kriti said, "Whether it is with the box office or as an actor. I think I have always been hungry to be known as a good actor, not just have the stardom. So, whether it is certain performances, the awards or the National awards. It gives a sense of validation that, 'okay, I don't need to prove myself now, I just have to push myself and do what exictes me.'"
On the work front, Kriti Sanon is looking forward to her production debut Do Patti under her production house Blue Butterfly Films. Apart from bankrolling the project she will also play the lead role alongside Kajol.
