Actor Ravi Teja undergoes surgery after on-set injury, shares health update

Ravi Teja, a well-known Telugu actor, recently had surgery due to a muscle tear he incurred while filming his upcoming movie, tentatively named #RT75. On Thursday he took to X (formerly Twitter) to provide fans with an update about his health post-surgery. He mentioned that doctors have recommended a week’s period of bed rest for him to recover completely.

In his recent post, Ravi Teja conveyed his appreciation for the overwhelming support he received. He shared, "Successfully discharged after a smooth surgery and feeling fine. Grateful for all your warm blessings and support. Excited to be back on set soon." The actor got hurt while on set but kept going with the filming even though it was painful and that caused more issues down the line.

A spokesperson for Ravi Teja has also issued a statement confirming the injury and subsequent surgery saying, “Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja recently sustained a muscle tear in his right hand during the filming of #RT75. Despite the injury, he continued to shoot, which unfortunately led to further aggravation. Yesterday, he underwent a successful surgery at Yashoda Hospitals and, as per medical advice, has been prescribed six weeks of bed rest to ensure a complete recovery.”

Social media was inundated with messages of goodwill from fans and fellow industry members directed towards the actor. Producer SKN shared his thoughts saying, “Get well soon Mass Maharaj,” while another fan wrote, "Waiting for a strong comeback, Anna."

Ravi Teja was last spotted in Mr. Bachchan, a Telugu version of Ajay Devgn's Raid that went head-to-head with Double iSmart in theatres. His upcoming appearance will be in an untitled film helmed by newcomer Bhanu Bogavarupu.
