Rajkummar Rao is currently riding high on the success of Stree 2. Within 10 days of theatrical release, the film has earned an unprecedented collection. Since day one the horror comedy-drama has refused to have a low run at the box office crossing the Rs 500 crore mark globally. Maddock Films' fifth installment of the supernatural horror universe has made a record-breaking collection and reflecting on the success Rajkummar has admitted that he never expected this feat. The movie has recorded a magnificent collection of Rs 560 crore worldwide.

Stree 2 is a sequel to the 2018 hit Stree which received immense love hence people have been excited and eagerly awaited for the second part. And to their surprise, Stree 2 is a visually extravagant cinematic experience that left the audience stunned. The performance recorded at the box office is phenomenal and the lead actor claims that he knew that the film would perform better a humongous response was unpredictable. 

In an interview with News18, the actor said, "We were sure that the film (Stree 2) would get lot of love because of the love that Stree 1 got. There’s a big fan-following for Stree, including me. I am a huge fan of Stree myself. But these numbers are way above our expectations. We are glad and super elated. There’s a lot of gratitude that this is happening with a film like Stree, because it is content-driven film.”

Rajkummar added, “There’s a lot of gratitude. God has been really kind. I have got a lot of love from the audience and they have accepted me for who I am. I have come from nowhere. I come from a very humble beginning. I didn’t grow up with money around me. I am one of their [audience’s] own. A lot of messages I get say that it feels like a personal victory, which is overwhelming.”

Talking about Stree 2, the sequel continues the story adding a twist to the narrative. Bringing back the original cast and characters the film introduces a new character Sarkata and offers a perfect crossover of Maddock Films supernatural horror universe.
