Rajkummar Rao is enjoying the limelight after the resounding success of Stree 2 which has taken the box office by storm. In a recent chat with YouTuber Shubhankar Mishra, the actor candidly discussed the film's positive reaction and addressed inquiries about his choice to change his surname, Yadav.

Rao explained that the purpose behind the name change was to prevent confusion with other Rajkummars in the sector. “There’s no rule to change your name when entering the industry. I had never used a surname before. Even on my passport, it’s just Rajkummar,” he said. He added, “This is to help people distinguish between Rajkummar Hirani, Santoshi, Gupta and me. Rao is a title given to Yadavs, so I started using it.”

In a previous interview with News18 Rajkummar reflected on the overwhelming success of Stree 2, “We were confident the film would be loved, given the fan following of Stree 1. But the numbers have exceeded our expectations. We are super elated and grateful, especially because Stree 2 is a content-driven film.”

Stree 2 has taken the box office by storm raking in over 500 crore worldwide and receiving acclaim from both critics and viewers.
