Stree 2 writer teases potential stand-alone film for Akshay Kumar's Supervillain character

Akshay Kumar’s cameo in Stree 2 has been a hot topic among fans, and now, the film’s writer, Niren Bhatt, has hinted at the possibility of expanding Akshay's role into a standalone film. In an exclusive interview with IndiaToday.in, Bhatt discussed the future of Kumar’s character, who appears as the leader of a hospital for the mentally disabled and the last living descendant of the villainous Sarkata.

Although Bhatt kept details under wraps he hinted at the possibility of something more for Akshay’s character. “We have plans for each and every character in this universe, big or small,” Bhatt said. “We can certainly explore making a solo film for Akshay’s character. As long as we’re committed to writing for this universe, the possibilities are endless.”

Niren shared the unexpected story of how Kumar got on board with Stree 2. At first, he believed the part was too small for the big star but director Amar Kaushik urged him to present the idea anyway. “Akshay was surprisingly enthusiastic and immediately agreed to take on the role,” he revealed. “His involvement has added a unique touch to the film, and the audience has responded incredibly well.”

Niren corrected any misunderstandings by stating that the cameo was originally part of the script and was not modified for Akshay Kumar. “The scene was always intended to advance the story, and Akshay’s involvement just added an extra layer of excitement,” he clarified.

Stree 2 has already beaten the Rs 500 crore milestone worldwide and boasts appearances from Varun Dhawan. With a cast that includes Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Aparshakti Khurana, Abhishek Banerjee, and Pankaj Tripathi among others, It is successfully running in theatres.
