However, many actors maintained silence on this matter. Mohanlal's name is also one among such actors. He is being criticised for maintaining silence on the matter. Amidst the criticism, he has now taken a big step.

Actually, Mohanlal is being criticised more for remaining silent on this matter because he was the President of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes (AMMA). Now he has resigned from this post. According to the report, this committee has been dissolved because along with Mohanlal, 16 other people of this association have also resigned. It is being told that everyone has resigned together citing their moral responsibility.

All of them resigned when the name of actor Jagdish was being discussed and that he would become the General Secretary of this association. Earlier, actor Siddiqui was on this post. However, after serious allegations like casting couch, he had to leave his post. After the criticism, along with Mohanlal, these 16 members have also opted out of the association.

Despite being the President of AMMA, Mohanlal had to face criticism when he did not say anything in support of the artists who had faced casting couch. Recently, while talking to the media, actor Shammi Thilakan targeted Mohanlal. He had said, “He has lost his ability to respond.” He had also pointed out that whoever is found guilty should be punished, no matter who it is.

Famous actor Prithviraj Sukumaran has also recently reacted on this matter. According to the report, he said that he is hopeful that action will be taken against the accused if the crime is proven. He also criticised AMMA for not taking action on the matter.

Nani also reacted on this matter. While talking to NDV, he said that this matter has troubled him. He also said that whenever a case of misbehaviour with women comes to light, he feels that the situation 20 years ago was quite right. He said that he feels that we are now living in a bad environment. However, an actress accused actor Siddiqui of raping her when she was 19 years old. Actor Baburaj was also recently accused of sexual harassment by a female junior artist.
