Zoya Akhtar recently directed The Archies an Indian adaptation of popular American comics in the same name. She also backed the coming-of-age drama, Kho Gaye Hum Kahaan as a producer. Her next highly anticipated project is Jee Le Zaraa starring an exciting fresh trio of Priyanka Chopra, Katrina Kaif, and Alia Bhatt. While people are eagerly waiting for the movie to materialize murmurs were that it has been shelved. Well, now the question that arises is if the film will see the light of day, the producer and writer of the said project has answered herself. 

Jee Le Zaraa is the most talked about film after being announced in 2021. It’s been years following the big announcement that left the audience excited but the film didn’t go on floors yet. There have been various rumors surrounding the project however, the makers and actors have strongly stood against all the words. After Farhan Akhtar and Alia Bhatt, Zoya Akhtar who is bankrolling the movie has revealed why Jee Le Zaraa is delayed. She shared the real reason when speaking at Indian Express hosted Expresso session in Mumbai.

Zoya Akhtar is known for directing Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara and the next installment Jee Le Zaraa is also touted to be a travel film featuring three independent girls set for a trip. The director who is set to produce Jee Le Zaraa along with Reema Kagti under Tiger Baby Productions gave a major update about the movie. She asserted that the movie is in the pipeline but the delay is because of aligning dates of three stars and director. The makers are finding it difficult to align the dates of Priyanka Chopra, Katrina Kaif, Alia Bhatt and Farhan Akhtar.

Meanwhile, Zoya Akhtar has backed the documentary Angry Young Man, which chronicles the journey of writer duo Salim Javed, in association with Farhan Akhtar’s Excel Entertainment and Salman Khan Films. On the other hand, Jee Le Zaraa director Farhan Akhtar is shooting a special film in Ladakh.
