Jacqueline Fernandez opens up on handling negative spotlight and language barrier in Bollywood

In a recent interview with Harper's Bazaar Bollywood star Jacqueline Fernandez opened up about the struggles of facing attention for reasons that are not directly linked to her work and often not in a positive light. She shared her thoughts on handling public judgment and how she has developed resilience to navigate criticism over the course of her career.

On the topic of the highs and lows that come with being famous Jacqueline shared her thoughts, “Positives and negatives are always going to be there... But what has helped me the most is giving up this constant desire and need to be loved, and realizing that this is truly the last illusion we all have and that we all face." She further emphasized the role of her faith and inner peace in maintaining calm amid public attention. “I believe in God, I always have. It’s an extremely strong force in my life. And because of that, I never really fear anything.”

Jacqueline, frequently making headlines for matters unrelated to her profession, spoke about the impact it has on her emotions. "I meditate often. Now, I’m able to distinguish between right and wrong people, and I keep my family and good people close," she said. She also highlighted the importance of empathy, calling it her "superpower."

In the previous month Jacqueline was called in by the Enforcement Directorate ED to provide answers regarding the 200 crore money laundering case tied to the suspected fraudster Sukesh Chandrashekhar. Although she has already faced inquiries regarding her possible connections to Chandrashekhar who is alleged to have extorted money for a lifestyle her involvement is still being scrutinized.

Apart from dealing with issues Jacqueline shared her ongoing battle with the language barrier in Bollywood. She confessed “To be honest I’m still navigating the language barrier. I put in effort and train to improve my speaking and performance in a language that's not my native tongue.” Despite facing criticism for her language proficiency early on the actress recognized her progress, over the years mentioning that movies such as Murder 2 (2011), Housefull 2 (2012) and Race 2 (2013) played a role in transforming her career.

Jacqueline is getting ready to launch her upcoming project Welcome to the Jungle which marks the part of the successful Welcome series directed by Ahmed Khan. This star packed movie features Akshay Kumar, Disha Patani, Raveena Tandon and more and is set to hit theatres on December 20.
