Sohum Shah’s folklore adventurous Tumbbad to re-release in theatres on September 13, 2024; New poster unveiled

The most celebrated horror movie Tumbbad created a buzz on social media teasing the audience with a re-release. Sohum Shah’s folklore adventurous which first graced big screen in 2018 was expected to once again hit theaters on 30th August 2024. However, the makers have now officially confirmed the re-release date as of September 13, 2024. The film is set to make a grand return to theaters offering fans and new audience an opportunity to immerse in the chilling world of Tumbbad.

The horror flick earned widespread acclaim for its unique blend of horror and Fantasy set in a fictional mythological village. However, the film didn’t perform well at the box office yet won the audience's hearts with its gripping storyline. Sharing a new intriguing poster onn Instaagram the makers announced the re-release of the much loved horror movie. The caption read, “Doston We are arriving !! It's time for #Tumbbad Experience in cinemas again on 13th September, 2024!”

Tumbbad new poster captures the eerie atmosphere of the movie it is known for. It features protagonist Vinayak Rao, played by Sohum Shah, navigating through the ominous night with a lantern in hand, alongside is his young son. Father and son are on a perilous journey hinting at the dangerous quest that drives the narrative. 

Directed by Rahi Anil Barve, with Anand Gandhi as the creative director and Adesh Prasad as the co-director, Tumbbad has been celebrated for its gripping storytelling, atmospheric cinematography, and groundbreaking production design. Written by Mitesh Shah, Prasad, Barve, and Gandhi, the film was produced by Sohum Shah, Aanand L. Rai, Mukesh Shah, and Amita Shah. The story follows Vinayak Rao’s descent into greed and obsession as he seeks out a mythical treasure guarded by the malevolent entity Hastar. 

As Tumbbad returns to theaters, this re-release is more than just a second chance to watch the film; it’s an invitation to rediscover the haunting world of greed, mythology, and horror that captivated audiences six years ago. The film will not be available on OTT platforms in 2024; therefore, the best opportunity to view it will be in theaters on September 13, 2024, promises to be a must-watch event.
