The controversy over Bollywood's famous actress and BJP's Lok Sabha MP Kangana Ranaut's film 'Emergency' is deepening continuously. The Sikh community had protested against this film and also threatened its release.
Kangana Ranaut's film got embroiled in controversies even before its release and the matter reached the High Court. Now Kangana's film has been postponed for release on the scheduled date amid heavy controversy. A reliable source informed about the postponement of the film's release. However, no statement has been issued by the makers on this matter so far. It is expected that the makers can put their point on this matter on Monday.
Kangana has played the role of former PM Indira Gandhi in this film. Apart from this, Kangana herself has also directed 'Emergency'. Kangana's upcoming film was ready to hit the theaters on 6 September. But amid heavy controversy, Emergency will not be released on the scheduled date.
The trailer of the film Emergency was well liked by the audience and since then there was a buzz about the film. However, as the release date approached, the Sikh community raised objections to the film. The Sikh community alleged that the film is anti-Sikh. People even threatened Kangana Ranaut and the makers not to release the film.
Opposing Emergency, Mohali residents Gurinder Singh and Jagmohan Singh filed a petition in the High Court, arguing that the film should first be shown to Sikh representatives. After this, voices of protest were raised continuously against the film. Akali Dal and SGPC also opposed the release of Emergency.
Apart from Kangana, Anupam Kher, Shreyas Talpade, Milind Soman, Vishak Nair, Mahima Chaudhary and late actor Satish Kaushik will also be seen in Emergency. However, the audience will have to wait for the new release date of the film for now.
