Rajinikanth responds to Hema Committee report controversy in Malayalam Cinema, Jayasurya denies allegations

In light of the Hema Committee reports revealing serious allegations in the Malayalam film industry, Rajinikanth has weighed in on the unfolding drama.The results sparked a lot of debate by shedding light on the struggles and incidents of misbehaviour faced by actresses.

At a recent press event in Chennai Rajinikanth was questioned about the MeToo accusations rocking the Malayalam film scene. However the actor deftly avoided delving into the issue saying, "I don’t know…I don’t know anything about that. Sorry."

As more performers share their stories a number of well known personalities in the Malayalam film industry have been named in the allegations such as actors Jayasurya, Siddique and Mukesh. In reaction to these claims Jayasurya released a statement in the media refuting the charges and promising to challenge them through legal means. The actor currently in the U.S. with his family expressed, "Two false allegations of sexual harassment have been made against me. My legal team will handle the proceedings." He added, “Let those who have not sinned throw stones; but only at those who have sinned.”

In the midst of growing debate the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) has witnessed a flurry of resignations Mohanlal, who held the position of president has stepped down to pave the way for fresh leadership. Additionally actor Mammootty recently acknowledged the findings of the Hema Committee report asserting that no influential groups exert control over the industry as part of an effort to address the allegations and concerns brought up.

The Hema Committee report keeps sparking conversations in the Malayalam film sector as people anticipate reforms and increased responsibility.
