However, an IIMA professor has now come to Navya's defence and said that the starkid has got admission on her own merit.

Promila Aggarwal, Associate Professor at IIMA, wrote on her X handle that Navya was fully eligible to get admission. The professor wrote, "They have solid CVs. You don't need a CAT. Hats off to everyone for having the courage to sign up for this program despite this."

She also revealed that the program for which Navya had enrolled herself had a very low acceptance rate. "Even though people may want to underestimate his interview and CV, she passed the cut-off," the professor said.

Soon after sharing the news of her admission in IIMA, Navya shared another picture with her coach who helped her crack the entrance exam. she wrote, "Thank you @mba_ims for coaching me for the entrance exam. It is Prasad sir who played the biggest role in coaching and preparing me to crack the CAT/IAT entrance exam. she is one of the best teachers." From whom I had the honour to learn. The day I got admission, we were celebrating in @mba_ims office."

The granddaughter of Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan, and daughter of Shweta Bachchan and Nikhil Nanda, Navya has been an entrepreneur since the age of 21. Unlike her brother Agastya Nanda, she chose a different path from films. When asked about becoming an actor, Navya had once said, "I come from a business family. So I was very clear that I did not want to go into acting. At the end of college I realized this is what I wanted to do."
