Tumbbad was initially released in 2018 although it didn’t perform well at the box office was later highly celebrated. The re-release is a chance for both dedicated fans and new audience to engage in the folklore adventurous story of the movie. The film achieved eight nominations at the 64th Filmfare Awards, with wins for Best Cinematography, Best Art Direction, and Best Sound Design. It also became the first Indian film to premiere at the Critics’ Week section of the 75th Venice International Film Festival. 

Tumbbad can be exclusively watched at theaters as it is not available on any OTT platforms in 2024. The re-release on September 13, 2024, offers another chance to enjoy the masterpiece once again on big screens and also rediscover why it remains a unique and celebrated masterpiece in Indian cinema.
