Akshay Kumar’s unexpected appearance in Stree 2 stole the show with his magic and charisma. The actor garnered love and appreciation for his brief role in the horror flick starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao. His stint in the sequel of the 2018 hit Stree sparked the extension of the franchise with Stree 3. Fans of the most celebrated movie are hoping for the third part to revolve around Akshay Kumar’s character. Amar Kaushik who directed the Stree series opened up if the Khel Khel Mein actor will be a part of Stree 3 joining the Maddock Films supernatural universe.
In an interview with ANI, the director shared how much the team will take to make Stree 3. To note, Stree 2 released six years after Stree in 2018. Amar Kaushik talking about next installment said, "I think it (Stree 2) was made in six years from the first (film). However, it won't take six years; it will take at least three years."
Stree 2 is undoubtedly being praised for its extravagant cinematic experience, powerful performance, and gripping storyline. Audiences have also hailed the film for the addition of Akshay Kumar in a cameo. The audience expects him to play the villainous role in chapter 3 extending the horror and threat in Chanderi village. Discussing Akshay Kumar’s involvement in Stree 3, Amar Kaushik said, "It depends on the script. If the story demanded he would be seen, otherwise he won't get it."
The filmmaker shared joy over the blockbuster success of Stree 2 saying, "I am thankful for the audience and those who watched the film and shared messages. Have to put in a lot of hard work and the credit goes to everyone, including the stars, producers and technicians."
Stree 2 has made record-breaking numbers at the box office crossing Rs 593 crore gross at India box office collection. The total net collection in India is Rs 502 crore within 18 days of release.
