Singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh has officially become part of the cast for Border 2, the eagerly awaited sequel to the 1997 war movie Border. He announced this news on Instagram sharing an intense video with a voiceover in which he passionately discussed the responsibility of safeguarding the country. In his post Diljit conveyed his enthusiasm saying, "Pehli Goli Dushman Chalaega aur Akhri Goli Hum (The first bullet will be fired by the enemies and the last by us)! Honoured to stand with such a powerful team and walk in the footsteps of our Soldiers! #Border2."

Sunny Deol, known for his role in Border movie, took to Instagram to warmly welcome Diljit to the cast, "Welcoming Fauji @diljitdosanjh to the Battalion of #Border2."

The announcement has sent fans into a frenzy of anticipation. Social media was abuzz with responses such as "Border 2 is getting more exciting day by day!" and "Double blockbuster movie Moviegoers likened the impressive lineup of actors in the film to the "Avengers" bringing up memories of superhero teamwork. Meanwhile some viewers hailed Sunny Deol as an iconic action hero in Indian movies.

Border 2 helmed by Anurag Singh carries forward the legacy of JP Dutta's Border a beloved film set against the backdrop of the 1971 India Pakistan War focusing on the Battle of Longewala. The cast of the original movie included Jackie Shroff, Suniel Shetty and Akshaye Khanna and it achieved tremendous success at the box office.

Alongside Diljit Dosanjh, Varun Dhawan has come on board for the Border 2 movie. The film is being produced by JP Dutta, Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar and Nidhi Dutta. Filming is scheduled to kick off in October 2023 with plans for a spectacular debut on January 23, 2026.
