Kareena Kapoor Khan too responded to the comparison at the trailer launch event. She was asked if her role in The Buckingham Murders is inspired by Kate Winslet’s character in Mare of Easttown. She said, “The script came to me a year before Mare of Easttown released. Actors should draw inspiration from other actors; it is kind of a motivation to make you want to do better. I am a huge Kate Winslet fan and I watch her work closely.”
