Malaika Arora’s father, Anil Arora, committed suicide this morning by reportedly jumping from the terrace of his apartment in Bandra, Mumbai. The reason for the suicide is not yet known. Arbaaz Khan was reportedly the first to reach the family home. No statement about the death was immediately issued by Malaika or her family. But a day before, sources say Malaika and her sister Amrita Ladakh had come to meet the family.
Anil Arora was a Merchant Navy officer of a Hindu Punjabi family. His wife Joyce, a Christian Malayali. They divorced when Malaika was 11 and Amrita was 6. Joyce raised the daughters thereafter. But it is believed the parents started living together again at the family home in Bandra. Talking about the divorce, Malaika said it had a great impact on her. But she also became stronger and learned to live life on her own terms.
Malaika and Amrita are known to be close to their parents. They shared pictures on social media for Diwali and Onam and whenever the whole family got together. Joyce is active on social media, too. And shared pictures of herself with Anil.
