Rakul Preet Singh has carved a niche in the film industry on her own becoming a prominent name in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu cinema. In a career spanning 14 years, the actress has featured in several films starting her acting debut in Kannada movies and gradually stepped into other South and Hindi movies. Rakul who is gearing up for De De Pyaar De 2 shared her thoughts on nepotism. The actress acknowledged that she lost movies in her career due to nepotism but doesn’t really dwell too much on it.
In a conversation with Ranveer Allahbadia for his podcast, Rakul Preet Singh highlighted how her career was affected at times due to nepotism. She said, “Yes, this happens, and I have lost films, but I am not the kind of person jo bitter hoke beth jaayega [who will sit and sulk]. Maybe those films weren’t meant for me.” She recalled her dad’s army background and how he taught her not to fixate on things beyond her control so she doesn’t think much about nepotism.
Rakul further added, “Tomorrow, if my kids want help, of course, I will help them out and not force the same struggle as I had to undergo on them. Similarly, if star kids get easy access, it is because their parents have worked hard. So nepotism is not something I think too much about. Yes this is a reality, films have been taken away from me, but I am not a person who will get bitter. Maybe these projects were not meant for me. I move on. I feel bad for a day and then snatch out of it.”
Rakul Preet Singh was seen in Kamal Haasan’s Indian 2 directed by S Shankar. Next in the pipeline, she has a sequel to her celebrated movie De De Pyaar De. She will reunite with Ajay Devgn for De De Pyaar De 2 which is set to go on floors soon. The second chapter of the comedy-drama will also feature R Madhavan in a key role.
