Vir Das shared this good news with his fans on social media. He told on Instagram that he will host the Emmy Awards and he is the first Indian to do so. The International Emmy Awards will be held on 25 November 2024 in New York. Vir Das wrote on Instagram, 'Thank you for your support, an Indian Emmy host. I can't wait to host the Emmy Awards this year! Crazy. Thank you for inviting me. Extremely honored and excited.'
Apart from comedy, Vir Das is also a producer. He has also appeared in many series. He has been seen in Netflix's 'Hasmukh' and Prime Video's Destination Unknown. Vir Das is also the main singer of the comedy-rock band Alien Chutney.
Vir started his career in stand-up comedy. Performed at many places in India and abroad. He has also appeared in Bollywood movies 'Delhi Belly', 'Go Goa Gone', 'Badmash Company'. He got recognition through Netflix comedy specials. These include 'Vir Das: Abroad Understanding', 'Vir Das: For India and Landing'. He won an Emmy Award in 2023. He has also acted in the American series 'Whiskey Cavalier'. He has made the Netflix series 'Hasmukh'.
