Tumbbad makes a thunderous comeback: Over 13,000 tickets sold for first-day advance booking of re-release 

Tumbbad is creating history at the box office with its re-release in theaters on September 13. Sohum Shah’s horror adventure flick has left the fans excited with its rerun on the big screen after 6 years. Based on folklore the film turned out to be a cult classic earning a tag of cinematic masterpiece. Cinephiles have hailed the movie for its unique storyline and visual extravaganza. The film is reclaiming its success and advance booking results of re-release are proof.

Tumbbad has captivated the audience and aims to be record-breaking in the list of re-released movie. The film has made an impressive business in the advance booking of day 1 of re-run. Reportedly it has sold 13000 tickets for Friday in advance booking according to Trade analyst Komal Nahta. He tweeted, “A thunderous comeback for Tumbbad! Over 13,000 advance tickets sold across national chains – 9,200 at PVR & INOX and 3,800 at Cinepolis! This re-release is about to break its original first-day record!”

Tumbbad producer Anand L Rai opened up about the film and its release. He said “Tumbbad was more than just a film for us—it was a journey into uncharted territory. The curiosity and the questions about a possible Tumbbad 2 even today, speaks volumes about its impact. We’re incredibly proud of Tumbbad and look forward to audiences witnessing it again. This is undoubtedly one of Colour Yellow Productions’ proudest ventures, and also another step in its journey of experimenting with genres.”

Tumbbad can be exclusively watched at theaters as it is not available on any OTT platforms in 2024. The re-release on September 13, 2024, offers another chance to enjoy the masterpiece once again on big screens and also rediscover why it remains a unique and celebrated masterpiece in Indian cinema. Directed by Anil Barve the film is produced by Sohum Shah and Anand L Rai under the banners of Sohum Shah Films, Colour Yellow Productions and Eros International.
