Ram Kapoor weighs in on gender equality in entertainment: 'It's all about audience preferences'

Ram Kapoor is a big name in the TV world. He has worked in many shows on TV. This has given him recognition in every household. Apart from TV, he has also been seen in films. Once again he is going to be seen in the film 'Yudhra'. There is a lot of debate on gender equality in the film world. Meanwhile, now Ram Kapoor has also commented on this. He has said that gender equality is not necessary in the entertainment industry, because it is directed by the audience.

The TV star actor said that even though actors have a bigger status than actresses in Bollywood, but when it comes to TV, it is not so. He said that when it comes to TV, they come second to actresses and no one questions it. Ram Kapoor said during an interview with Hindustan Times, "I don't think gender equality is really needed in the entertainment industry, because every industry has a certain dynamic and that dynamic is determined by the audience."

He further said, "I have been a part of an industry which is dominated by women. For 15 years I was a part of the television industry where female leads are more important than male leads. On the small screen, everything is about Tulsi and Parvati. Male leads are second to female leads, but in those entire 15 years, I never cared about male leads there." The actor further said that the audience wanted this, so it does not matter to him, whether it is Bollywood, where men are doing better, or television, where women are doing better.

Ram Kapoor further added that in the world of modelling, male models cannot even come close to female models. He said that everyone knows about Naomi Campbell and Cindy Crawford, but no one remembers male models. No one talks about gender equality there. The actor said that there are many industries where women rule and no one is affected much by it. He said that he doesn't think much about it, it is always the audience who decides.
