Aparshakti Khurrana reveals he shares old school Ram-Lakshman relationship with brother Ayushmann Khurrana

Aparshakti Khurrana, who recently basked in praise for Stree 2, apart from being credited for his remarkable performance is also known for sharing a close bond with a stellar actor and his brother Ayushmann Khurrana. During the screening of Berlin, Aparshakti was seen touching the feet of his brother. Stree actor has now addressed the gesture publicly explaining that this is a practice he has been following since childhood. He revealed that his father has instilled this tradition in him when he was young.

In a recent interview with Digital Commentary, Aparshakti opened up on his bond with Ayushmann Khurrana and revealed how he earned the practice of touching elder brother’s feet. He said, “The thing is, you don’t really know how to speak with your older brother when you are young, you don’t know how to respect him. So Papa used to keep telling me to call him ‘bhaiya’ but I wouldn’t.”

He recalled an incident when he had a fight with his brother when he was between the ages of eight and nine. He said, “One day, when we were playing, we got into a fight and I called him something like 'saala' or 'kameena' or something and that day I was beaten up a lot. After that, the conclusion was that from this day on, you will call him 'bhaiya' and every morning you will touch his feet in the morning and that is the only way you can stay in this house, or you can’t stay in this house.”

Aparshakti further added, “I think once you start doing this, there is less scope to fight or to have a conflict, because then you can’t yell at them, and you will not say any bad thing. And if you don’t say anything bad, there is no room for a fight, so it’s a very old school Ram-Lakshman kind of relationship. We have a very middle class and small town upbringing and, perhaps, that’s why things are still good between us.”
On the work front, Aparshakti Khurrana was last seen in Stree 2 a sequel to his 2018 blockbuster hit Stree. He is currently enjoying the appreciation was his lately released fantasy thriller Berlin which is now streaming on Zee 5.
