Raaj Shaandilyaa is gearing up for the release of his upcoming movie Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video starring Rajkummar Rao and Triptii Dimri. Following the success of Dream Girl and Dream Girl 2 he is set for this comedy caper. The director, who is two movies young and set for third release, in 2023 was reported to collaborate with Akshay Kumar for comedy caper Hera Pheri 3. He did confirm the developments however things didn’t materialize. 

As per reports, he was approached by Hera Pheri 3 producers to direct the most awaited film. However, the Dream Girl series turned down the project because he found it demanding. Raaj confirmed that he didn’t understand the script and stepped back from signing a big project. He claimed while the film waited so many years it can wait more. Well, he didn’t take up Hera Pheri 3 project but have been working on the same lines.

In an interview with Pinkvilla, Raaj Shaandilyaa said that he is contemplating a script on the lines of Hera Pheri bringing in 3 comic characters. For the same, he is eying on Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal. He wants to develop a 3 character film with lot of chaos, fun and drama. 

He said, “In between, I was also discussing Hera Pheri 3 with Akshay Kumar, but things didn’t work out and I moved on to Dream Girl 2. I didn’t understand the plot they had for Hera Pheri 3 back then, but, ever since then, I have been developing a subject for Akshay Kumar. I will narrate it to him very soon. “It’s the world of Hera Pheri – a 3-character film with a lot of chaos. It has all the elements of Hera Pheri. The trio of Akshay sir, Paresh Sir, and Anna warrants a great script, and I have developed this one for them. It will work out soon.”

Meanwhile, Raaj Shaandilyaa’s next directorial project is the Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video slated to release on October 11, 2024. It is an out and out comedy entertainer with an ensemble cast of Rajkummar Rao, Triptii Dimri, Mallika Sherawat, Vijay Raaz and more. The movie is produced under the banners of T-Series, Balaji Motion Pictures, Wakaoo Films and Kathavachak Films.
