As Bollywood icon Kareena Kapoor nears her quarter century mark in the film industry she is preparing for a project. Since her debut in 2000 with JP Dutta’s Refugee, she has solidified her status as one of the leading female stars in Hindi cinema. Following her success earlier this year with Crew she is now set to embark on what may be the most significant role of her career.
As per an exclusive report by Pinkvilla Kareena has inked a deal for a grand Pan India movie set to be among the most eagerly awaited films in Indian cinema in the coming two years. An insider connected to the project disclosed, “Kareena has been offered some of the biggest Pan-India films over the past nine months, but this particular project stood out for her. It’s a role unlike anything she has done before, directed by one of the most celebrated and bankable filmmakers in the industry. She was instantly on board after hearing the narration.”
The source also mentioned that Kareena was really taken with the director’s vision and the distinct role she will be playing. “She usually takes time to commit to a project, but this time she was blown away by the director's world-building and the depth of the role. She’s eager to step onto the set and explore new facets of her acting in this magnum opus,” the source shared.
The movie is set to start shooting in January 2025 and will be filmed extensively in India and other locations, with a planned release. Kareena has already cleared her schedule for 2025 to focus on the filming committing her 25th year in the industry to this ambitious endeavour.
The article also emphasized the magnitude of the movie mentioning that it will showcase talent from different Indian cinema sectors. “It’s a grand Pan-India project, and the director has roped in talent from across the country for key roles. This is set to be a cinematic spectacle.”
Before jumping into this big budget movie Kareena is set to finish a project with director Meghna Gulzar.
