Vipin Reshammiya, the father of singer and music composer Himesh Reshammiya, has sadly passed away at the age of 87 on September 18 (Wednesday). He had been receiving treatment at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital due to breathing difficulties and health issues related to his age.
According to a report by the Times of India a close family friend of Himesh, fashion designer Vanita Thapar has confirmed his passing, “Yes, he had a breathing problem." She also talks about how she is family to them and expressed having a fatherly connection with the late music director Vipin Reshammiya.
Himesh Reshammiya took to Instagram in 2021 to share that his dad, Vipin Reshammiya, wrote a song sung by the iconic Lata Mangeshkar and Kishore Kumar unfortunately, it couldn't be released at that time. Himesh described the track as one of the greatest timeless tunes ever, in his own words, "My dad composer Vipin Reshammiya had composed a beautiful track quite a few years back sung by the legendary Lataji and Kishore Kumar ji, unfortunately, it couldn’t be released then..."
For those who may not know Vipin Reshammiya was involved as a producer in the movies The Xpose (2014) and Teraa Surroor (2016) both of which starred his son Himesh Reshammiya. He also contributed music to an unreleased film titled Insaaf Ka Suraj (1990). It's said that Naam Hai Tera revealed that his father Vipin Reshammiya was supposed to work with Salman Khan on a project and that's how he first met the superstar. After being introduced to the actor by his father Himesh landed his breakthrough role as a director in the film Jab Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya starring Salman and Kajol in 1998.
Vipins final farewell will take place on September 19 in Juhu Mumbai. His lifeless remains will shortly be sent home by the Reshammiya family.
